SWIM AREA WEED REMOVAL · AUSTIN, TX
Swim area weed removal, bottom to surface
A swim area that's only clear on top still feels like wading through a salad. We clear swim zones from the lake bed up, with no chemicals, so kids, guests, and dogs can get in the water right away.
We manually remove hydrilla and other submerged weeds from lake swim areas, cutting at the base and hauling everything away. There are no chemicals, so there's no waiting period before swimming.
Why chemical-free matters for swim areas
Swim areas are where people and pets spend the most time in the water, and where herbicide treatments are most restricted. Hand removal has no chemical label, no re-entry wait, and nothing added to the water. When we're done, you can swim.
Safety and comfort
Dense submerged weeds make it hard to see the bottom and unpleasant to swim through. Thick mats can also be a tangling hazard, especially for kids and weaker swimmers. Clearing the full water column, not just the surface, makes a swim area actually usable.
How we clear a swim area
- Mark out the area you want cleared (around the dock, ladder, or roped zone)
- Remove the surface mat with rakes
- Cut rooted stems at the base with underwater blades
- Collect, bag, and haul off everything
Service area
Available on Lake Travis, Lake Austin, Lake LBJ, Lake Marble Falls, Canyon Lake (by request), including lakefront homes in Lakeway, Steiner Ranch, Horseshoe Bay, Kingsland, and Marble Falls.
Questions
How soon can we swim after you clear it?
Right away. We don't use any chemicals, so there's no waiting period.
Is hydrilla dangerous to swim in?
Hydrilla isn't toxic, but dense mats can wrap around arms and legs and make it hard to see the bottom. Most families would rather have a clear swim area, especially for kids.
