Hydrilla is a recurring problem, not a one-time fix. Scheduled visits through the growing season catch regrowth while it's still a trim, before it becomes a full mat again.
Seasonal maintenance is a schedule of repeat hand-removal visits during the warm growing season. Each visit removes regrowth at the base and hauls it off, so your dock, shoreline, or swim area stays usable all season.
Why one clearing usually isn't enough
Hydrilla spreads three ways: stem fragments, small buds, and tubers buried in the lake bed. Tubers can stay dormant in the sediment for years and sprout later. No removal method gets every one of them. Regular visits keep regrowth small and quick to remove. Read why hydrilla comes back.
How maintenance works
- Start with a full clear. The first visit takes the area back to open water.
- Scheduled follow-ups. We come back during the growing season at an interval that fits your lake and how heavy the growth is.
- Each visit is lighter. Catching regrowth early means less time on the water and less material to haul.
- Heads-up on changes. If growth from nearby untreated areas starts pushing in, we'll tell you.

It depends on the lake, water depth, and how dense the growth was. We'll recommend an interval after the first clear.
When is hydrilla growing season in Central Texas?
Hydrilla grows fastest in warm water, so growth usually picks up in spring, peaks in summer, and slows as the water cools in fall. Timing varies from lake to lake and year to year.
